In Polish: RPP (Rada Polityki Pieniężnej)
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
RPP (Rada Polityki Pieniężnej, the Monetary Policy Council) is the body of the National Bank of Poland that sets NBP interest rates. It consists of the NBP President as chair and 9 members appointed in equal numbers by the President of Poland, the Sejm and the Senate for 6 years. Rate decisions are taken at decision-making meetings, usually once a month.
What it means for you
An RPP decision to change rates feeds into WIBOR and POLSTR, and through them into the instalment of a variable-rate loan and into creditworthiness. Your instalment changes only on the benchmark update date set in your agreement. With a fixed rate, RPP decisions do not change your instalment until the fixed period ends.
