In Polish: Pośrednik kredytu hipotecznego
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
A mortgage credit intermediary (pośrednik kredytu hipotecznego) is a business that is not a bank and, for remuneration, presents mortgage agreements to consumers, helps with formalities before the agreement or concludes agreements on behalf of the lender. It must be entered in the KNF register, with a number starting with RPH. The Act divides intermediaries into tied and untied.
What it means for you
The type of intermediary decides how many offers you see: an untied one compares many banks, a tied one works for one or a limited number. The intermediary must tell you this before the service, together with information on its remuneration. It has compulsory liability insurance that protects you against damage caused in intermediation, including by its agents.
