In Polish: Taksa notarialna
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
The notary fee (taksa notarialna) is the notary's remuneration for drawing up a deed and other acts. Its maximum is set by a regulation of the Minister of Justice, depending on the value of the transaction. The notary may charge less, but not more, and adds 23% VAT.
What it means for you
When buying a flat with a mortgage you pay a fee for the sale agreement, for creating the mortgage, for the land register application and for copies of the deed. For a PLN 500,000 flat this usually adds up to several thousand złoty, paid on the day of the deed from your own money. Ask 2–3 notary offices for a quote, because the regulation rate is a maximum.
