Additional products: meaning in a Polish mortgage

In Polish: Produkty dodatkowe
This is the word you will see in bank documents.

Definition

Additional products are an account, a card, insurance and other services the bank offers with the loan in exchange for a lower margin or commission. Such bundling is allowed if the same loan is also available without the package. The bank must then also give you the information form for the offer without products.

What it means for you

A package lowers the instalment, but only as long as you meet its conditions. It pays off when the reduction in the instalment is greater than the cost of the products. An account and a card you use anyway usually pay off, while an expensive policy can eat up the whole reduction.
