In Polish: Wypowiedzenie umowy kredytu
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
Termination of a loan agreement (wypowiedzenie) is the bank unilaterally ending the agreement, after which the whole remaining debt becomes due. Under the Polish Mortgage Credit Act the bank may terminate when you do not keep to the loan conditions or lose creditworthiness, with a notice period of 30 days. Before that, the bank must demand payment and allow debt restructuring.
What it means for you
When the notice period ends, you must repay the whole balance at once, and the bank may recover it from the mortgage. Before that happens you have statutory windows: 14 business days to apply for restructuring, 30 days' notice and at least 6 months to sell the property yourself after failed restructuring. The worst thing you can do is ignore letters from the bank.

Frequently asked questions
After how many missed instalments does the bank terminate a mortgage?
The law does not give a number. The bank must first demand payment with a deadline of at least 14 business days and allow restructuring. The specific termination conditions are in the agreement.
What is the notice period for terminating a mortgage agreement?
30 days, or 7 days if the consumer is at risk of bankruptcy, unless the agreement provides for a longer period.
Will the bank take the flat immediately after termination?
No. After a restructuring application is rejected or restructuring fails, the bank must let you sell the property over a period of at least 6 months before it starts recovering the debt.
