In Polish: Zaświadczenie o zarobkach
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
An income certificate (zaświadczenie o zarobkach) is a document issued by the employer confirming the type of employment, contract period and salary. The bank accepts it as proof of income when assessing creditworthiness. Banks usually accept it for 30 days from issue and often require their own form.
What it means for you
The amount on the certificate goes straight into the creditworthiness calculation, so a mistake or an understated average can lower the loan amount. A certificate ordered too early will expire during the analysis. A mismatch between the certificate and payments into your account is a warning sign for the analyst.

Frequently asked questions
How long is an income certificate valid for a mortgage?
Most often 30 days from issue. The exact period depends on the bank.
Must the income certificate be on the bank's form?
Some banks require their own form, others accept the employer's template. Check before ordering so you do not have to order it twice. Banks' forms are in Polish; your employer's HR department fills them in.
Does the bank verify the certificate with my employer?
It may. Banks verify data by phone or compare them with payments into your account. Inconsistencies slow down the analysis or end in refusal.
