In Polish: Całkowita kwota kredytu
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
The total amount of a mortgage credit is the maximum amount of money the bank makes available to you under the agreement, excluding credited costs such as a commission or insurance added to the loan (Article 4(4) of the Polish Mortgage Credit Act). It is the money you can actually spend on the flat, construction or renovation.
What it means for you
In the agreement and the ESIS form you will see several amounts. If you add the commission or insurance to the loan, the amount in the agreement is higher than the total amount of credit, and you pay interest on all of it. To compare offers use the APR (RRSO) and the total amount payable; to plan the purchase use the total amount of credit.

Frequently asked questions
Is the total amount of credit what I will receive?
Yes, it is the money the bank makes available for the purpose of the loan. Costs added to the loan are not included in it.
Where do I find the total amount of credit?
In the ESIS information form you receive before the agreement, and in the loan agreement itself.
How does it differ from the total amount payable?
The total amount of credit is the money at your disposal. The total amount payable is that amount plus all credit costs, i.e. everything you pay back to the bank.
