In Polish: Wartość odtworzeniowa
This is the word you will see in bank documents.
Definition
Replacement value (also called new value) is the cost of rebuilding the insured building to a new condition, no better than on the day the policy was taken out. Actual value is the replacement value minus technical wear. Market value is the price at which you would sell the property.
What it means for you
The value chosen determines how much you receive after damage. A flat in a block is usually insured at market value, a house at replacement value. A policy at actual value is cheaper, but with an older building you usually have to pay extra for rebuilding out of your own pocket after damage.
